Jaguar Land Rover are talking with Ford and BMW about a Li-on battery joint venture

The Times reports that Jaguar Land Rover are talking with Ford and BMW about a joint venture to build a battery factory to secure supplies of Li-on batteries for their forthcoming range of EVs.

This makes perfect sense; batteries aren’t like engines; there is no noise which might distinguish a snarly Jaguar V6 from a raspy Alfa flat four. What this further proves is that the shift towards EVs is accelerating and a scramble to secure battery output has begun.
