Cheating emissions has come back to bite VW on the backside once again. Now the mayor of London has demanded compensation for all the lost congestion charge revenue caused by the estimated 80,000 VW diesel cars that were purchased by unaware Londoners.

Sadiq Khan is committed to making London a cleaner place to live and lowering diesel emissions is at the forefront of his thinking. We recently commented on The Guardian's piece on the inevitable charges awaiting diesel drivers here. Tax increases and charges to drive round our largest cities appear to be looming. Perhaps it's time to start considering electric vehicles - no fuel taxes, no congestion charge, it makes sense to us...
