VW’s actions may spell the end for diesel cars

VW’s time on the naughty step may have greater consequences than billions of euros in fines and claims.  The industry is now contemplating the possibility that this episode could be the beginning of the end for diesel cars.

We think there will be a more immediate problem for Britain’s company car drivers; diesels are often sold with very low CO2 emissions which in turn means a lower tax charge for the driver. New testing may find that the emissions are, in fact, much higher, which will have HMRC rubbing their hands….

You may want to consider taking advantage of the many incentives to switch to electric cars while they still exist. Unlike stinky old diesels, electric cars can be powered from your roof at work.
