Now records for wind energy are being broken on a monthly basis as the effect of bigger, more efficient turbines and the availability of low cost installation infrastructure mothballed by the north sea oil industry make wind generation ever cheaper.

Current arrays being installed by the Dutch government will generate electricity at half the cost for MWh that the UK government has underwritten for Hinkley C. The wind arrays will be generating at least five years before Hinkley yields it’s first kWh, if indeed it ever gets built.
