Government sets plans to allow companies to move their solar PV with them – Good Idea?

We always applaud any efforts by the government to increase take up of PV on the roofs of commercial buildings but we’re not convinced that this initiative will sway anyone’s decision.

Clearly the civil servants behind this wheeze have never installed a PV system on a warehouse roof.  There’s a lot of work and costs involved and anyway,  whoever buys or rents that building from you is going to want all that energy for themselves.

Commercial surveyors are telling us that buildings which produce a significant chunk of their own energy are increasingly attractive to owner occupiers and tenants alike.
