Mypower’s superb year to be recognised at the Gloucestershire Business Awards

Mypower are delighted to announce they have been shortlisted in the Small Business of the Year award category at the Gloucestershire Business Awards 2017.

Since their beginnings in 2010, two things have never changed from Mypower’s ethos – quality customer service and superb attention to detail. These attributes have really been highlighted during the past year.

Mypower have had an extremely busy and exciting year, with numerous successful projects reaching completion. One project in particular grabbed the nation’s attention…

Mypower’s excellent customer communication, supreme attention to detail and brilliant innovation won them the contract to install 150 solar panels on the historic Gloucester Cathedral in late 2016. From the very start, Mypower’s dedication to this challenging yet exciting project was there for all to see. Preserving the ancient nave roof was one of many challenges Mypower faced along the way. Access to the roof, shadowing and concealing the concrete ballasts were other complications they managed to overcome. Managing Partner, Ben Harrison worked tirelessly in and out of office hours to find solutions for each obstacle. Ben’s detailed planning and effective communication meant the perfect solution was achieved for all challenges.

The result of all this hard work was a fantastic solar PV installation, which can only be seen from the roof itself. The 150 solar PV panels will generate 29,000kW of energy a year, enough to make 250,000 cups of tea per year. Energy costs will be reduced by 25 percent, saving £190,000 over the next twenty five years. The project gained nationwide press coverage across newspapers as well as TV and radio news broadcasts.

Mypower have kicked on since the completion of Gloucester Cathedral, with many more highly successful projects completed in Gloucestershire and the surrounding counties. Other notable solar PV installs undertaken by Mypower this year include: a 544 panel install on Gilders Transport at Teddington. Following on from that, the happy customer has just placed another order for a further 374 panels at their Toddington depot in Gloucestershire. We have also had two other repeat customer installations in Gloucestershire, 200 panels for Thomas Gaden at Stow-on-the-Wold and a 115 Panels for Rocket Rentals of Cam, Gloucestershire.

Mypower have shown that despite being a small business, they are not afraid of big challenges. This is why they have been nominated at the Gloucestershire Business Awards.
