The UK government have effectively handed over control of our nuclear power capacity to the Chinese state

Well, the penny appears to have dropped.

Everyone apart from those in government responsible for signing off this mad scheme considers a plan to hand over huge bribes and effective control of our nuclear power capacity to the Chinese state is hardly conducive to improving energy security.

Finally the military and security spooks have woken up and are warning government that this might not be the brightest of ideas. As Paul Dorfman of UCL, an advisor to government on energy matters, succinctly puts it..

“No one else in Europe would cut this deal. America wouldn’t dream of letting China have such a part in its critical national infrastructure. The idea the UK is prepared to do so is, frankly, astounding.”

If further evidence was needed that energy is far too important an issue to be left to the short term whims of politicians, this is it.
