We're very impressed with this solar powered passenger boat

It's always brilliant seeing innovative businesses using solar and this week we came across this passenger boat in the Spanish city of Denia.

la-panseta-solar-boat

This small boat is powered entirely by the 18 solar panels on its roof and can take up to 62 passengers on its two minute journey from the centre of Denia to the Baleària Port maritime terminal. The boat runs every 20 minutes and the best thing about it is there is no charge to hop on board.

With the sun shining like it is in this picture for the majority of the year in Spain, its no wonder this little gem is doing so well.

You can read more about the boat here.
