Chargepoint planning thousands of new public
EV charge points

The Times reports on the latest big investment in new EV charging infrastructure. Chargepoint is planning thousands of additional charging points at supermarkets, petrol stations etc. This is great news but their charging model looks a little rich; 25p per kWh looks tad greedy when they could generate the electricity from solar panels on the roof for as little as 4.5p/kWh. Plenty of scope for profit there without gouging the consumer.

These new charging points will add choice and convenience and shows that a proper market is developing in providing chargers for EVs without any government intervention. This is great news.
