Clearly lacking the highly effective PR machine that Tesla employs, Daimler-Benz quietly updated the world on its own progress with battery storage. Daimler, like Tesla, is launching a home storage system and you may be seeing a common theme here; both these companies make cars and Mercedes-Benz is expanding its electric hybrid car range to around 20 models by 2017.

Electric cars and domestic solar generation/energy storage make a nice fit and the auto giants are aware that the winds of change are blowing...
