Nick reminds us that energy security is a more pressing obligation for governments than counting carbon emissions.

We love the opening sentence which should focus the mind of whichever bunch of tinkering charlatans assume power later this month:

Keeping the lights on is one of the core responsibilities of any government. If the lights go out, the government soon follows.
