The French Embassy has announced that it now buys 100% green energy from Ecotricity

In what could be interpreted as a massive show of no confidence in the new nuke power plant at Hinckley Point ever producing one kWh of electricity, the French Embassy has announced that it now buys 100% green energy from Ecotricity, based here in Gloucestershire.

The French state is heavily involved in its nuclear power industry and it might reasonably expect its overseas missions to be backing a national champion. 

The Times never misses an opportunity to have a dig at the French and its coverage of this story even manages to draw a parallel with Waterloo. Nice.
