Norway aiming to ensure all their cars are zero emission by 2025

Ambitious talk from those canny Norwegians; their stated aim to ensure that all cars in Norway are zero emission by 2025 is no mean target.

It could be dismissed as fanciful if it weren’t for the fact that Norway is already way in front when it comes to take up of electric cars – almost 20% of new cars sold in Norway are all electric - and the fact that Norway generates almost all of its electricity from hydro-electric sources. It’s also a pretty neat commercial move; as one of the world’s largest producers of oil and gas, Norway can export all of their hydrocarbons rather than use it domestically which is a trick the Saudis might want to learn.
