Hitching a cable to charge an electric car has already become old hat
It appears that no sooner have we installed charging points for our electric cars, the very act of hitching a cable to charge has become old hat.
Chargemaster, who make the charging points you see at supermarkets and some streets, have won the contract to make charging pads developed by Qualcomm using technology similar to that now common with mobile phones.
Wider roll out of this charging method will ratchet up the convenience of electric cars; install a pad in the garage or driveway - Chargemaster claim that they will be no more expensive than conventional charging points - park up and walk away leaving the car to charge.
