After years of pursuing hybrid technology Toyota have seemingly decided to go all-electric

Toyota has announced that it is now ready to produce all-electric vehicles after years of pursuing hybrid technology and toying with hydrogen powered vehicles.

The company refers to technical improvements in battery technology which they claim makes the batteries much safer. We think another reason, which they make less noise about in their statement, is that battery prices are coming down significantly and this, and the wave of new EVs being planned by rival manufacturers, is what has prompted Toyota to see the light.
