UK's reliance on imported gas could soon backfire
We’ve been banging on for years about the risk the UK faces by being increasingly dependent on imported gas. An alliance of energy users and distributors - Major Energy Users Council and the Energy & Utilities Alliance - have written to the government highlighting the risk that a spike in gas prices pose to the UK’s energy landscape.
Why it has taken so long for our woeful reliance on supplier states such as Russia and Qatar (as well as the nice, cuddly Norweigians) to be identified as high risk is beyond us.
