Solar PV advances are happening all the time
Another upbeat article pointing towards a bright future for solar PV.
Ed Crooks points towards the massive reduction in the cost of PV and the advances made in both production efficiencies and generation capability of the modules. All three of these are continuing and as the scale of PV deployment increases, the cost reductions and R&D advances will keep coming.

We disagree with Ed on one point; in his last paragraph he forsees PV being viable without subsidy in northern Europe in ten years time. We would argue that by producing electricity at 5 pence per kWh compared to 10-13 pence from the grid, it already is.
