Solar generation capacity has exceeded new coal generation globally for the first time

The FT reports on how new solar generation capacity has exceeded new coal generation globally for the first time. The developing economies of Asia and Latin America are leading the charge with India and China being the obvious stand out economies where solar is growing at a stunning rate.

These fast growing economies will have the benefit of cheap electricity produced by solar for the next twenty five years reducing their need to import oil, gas and coal.  

This massive deployment of solar electricity generation across the globe is now producing electricity as cheap as 2.5p per kWh; the transformation of the global energy landscape is unstoppable.
