Did you know that you can finance 100% of your system and be cash flow positive from day one?
The benefits of solar are clear, and whether your objectives are financial or environmental, it can help businesses to grow and invest further into their operations. In fact, a portion of our orders are from repeat customers who have added to their solar array after expanding their business premises or acquiring a new site.
With electricity prices rising and unpredictable in the long term, investing in a system that generates electricity at 5p/kWh for the next 25 years is the sensible choice. We have been installing solar PV systems for high energy using businesses across the UK for over 15 years, and we have worked with many businesses seeking finance for commercial solar.
Commercial solar finance options
It's safe to say that we have seen the positive effects of solar firsthand, but we do understand that the initial investment can seem daunting to business owners. With this in mind, we have partnered with Smart Ease to offer finance for commercial solar. We provide detailed desktop surveys at no cost with no obligation to move the conversation forward. This conversation is key to finding out what size system suits your business needs, and ultimately the investment you would need.

Your commercial solar funding options
There are three ways we see UK businesses funding their solar project:
Capital Expenditure
The option with the best financial returns over the lifetime of the system and will keep your payback period short. If your business has the funds to spend, you will own the system outright and receive the highest return on your investment. Although the initial outlay is relatively high (depending on the system size), you won't incur interest as you would with a finance agreement, keeping your costs as low as possible.
Asset finance
Asset finance with Smart Ease has a £0 upfront cost, and your business will pay off the price of the installation over a fixed term. There are two types of asset finance available with our finance partner: a rental agreement and a hire purchase agreement. The main difference is that with a rental agreement, the business doesn't own the equipment, unlike a hire purchase.
For this reason, the majority of installs we do with asset finance are under hire-purchase agreements.
Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)
When you finance a commaercial solar PV system with a PPA, the system is owned by the finance provider, who is also responsible for maintaining it. Because the system is owned by the PPA provider, they will sell the energy to your business at an agreed rate throughout the term of your agreement. The cost of solar energy used here can be claimed as a tax-deductible expense. Through our finance partner, the business has the opportunity to buy the system during the term of the agreement.

"Mypower’s price in the tender process was competitive and, following my research on them and verifying their references, I awarded Mypower the contract based on professionalism, attention to detail and price as well as their complete project management offering.
Making any new investment in technology that is an unknown to you takes a lot of research, meeting numerous suppliers and getting a consensus of target results to be achieved. After my detailed research I always felt a roll-out to a bigger system was likely. I engaged with an engineer to help me with the final selection. Ben Harrison of Mypower worked hard to gain the order, then planned and installed the system with a very high degree of professionalism. We are very happy with the results to date."
