Aston Martin confirm their electric supercar is to be launched in 2019
We first talked about Aston Martin’s concept for a four door electric supercar in 2015; they’ve now confirmed that the RapidE - named, presumably because of its resemblance to the V12 Rapide - will be properly launched in 2019.
By that time it will have some stiff competition from the likes of Porsche and Bentley who both plan to bring all electric cars - the Mission E (a direct competitor to the RapidE) and the Speed 6E respectively.
Numbers will be limited to 155 and the price high; around £200,000 in the UK market. Rumours of power output range between 800 and 1000bhp which compares favourably with the 520bhp of the petrol V12 Rapide.
The Telegraph reports on the story here.
