Three years on, still going strong: Arthur Clark & Mypower
Mypower renews sponsorship of Gloucester Rugby's Arthur Clark
Three years ago, Mypower saw something special in Arthur Clark.
At the time, he was a talented young player with a bright future ahead of him. Since then, it has been fantastic to watch that potential turn into reality, and we're delighted to announce the renewal of our sponsorship of Arthur for the season ahead.
Over the past three years, Arthur has continued to develop into an important member of the Gloucester Rugby squad. Along the way, he has earned England A honours, joined Steve Borthwick's England training squad and gained his first senior England cap.
Arthur's rugby journey began in nearby Stow-on-the-Wold before progressing through Hartpury College and into professional rugby with Gloucester. His commitment to improving year after year is something we admire greatly and one of the reasons our partnership has always felt like such a natural fit.
As a Gloucestershire business, supporting local talent and giving something back to the community has always been important to Mypower. Over the last 16 years, we've been fortunate enough to work with businesses across the UK, helping them take greater control of their energy costs through commercial solar installations, while continuing to invest in relationships and initiatives closer to home.
During a previous interview with Mypower, Arthur shared his thoughts on the role solar technology can play for businesses:
Arthur's comments remain just as relevant today. For many businesses, solar is far more than "a little help". A well-designed system can generate 30-40% of a site's annual electricity requirements, producing power at around 4-5p/kWh compared with buying electricity from the grid at 20-25p/kWh or more.
Most importantly, though, this sponsorship is about supporting someone whose journey we've enjoyed following from the very beginning.
Everyone at Mypower wishes Arthur and Gloucester Rugby the very best for the season ahead. We'll be cheering him on from the stands at Kingsholm and look forward to seeing what the next chapter brings.
And, of course, we're hoping to see Arthur wearing the England rose again before too long.
