Richard Branson predicts all cars will be electric in twenty years time

The Bearded Wonder may be a bit behind the curve with his sudden enthusiasm for electric cars, but Richard Branson’s prediction that ICE cars will not be being made in twenty years adds another mainstream voice to the cause.

It’s inevitable that as batteries improve and the efficiencies and costs of solar PV move in the right direction,  the idea of importing volatile, expensive, space intensive oil for petrol and diesel will seem ever more ludicrous.  

Given how well his Virgin Atlantic business does from the southern Caribbean islands, we’re surprised that Mr B. doesn’t use somewhere like Tobago or Grenada to invest in solar energy capacity to power an electric car fleet. These islands have optimal sunlight and expensive, imported fuel. We’re happy to help out with any on site research which may need doing.
