As we predicted earlier this week, the Solar Trade Association’s whinge about the ending of subsidies hasn’t fallen on sympathetic ears.

The influential political blog Guido Fawkes has a dig and they make a fair point. The solar farms which will lose their subsidies would never get built without them  and are unsustainable. The industry needs to direct it’s efforts at areas where it can ultimately thrive without a subsidy and that is at the point of electricity demand.  Rooftops of factories, warehouses, schools, cold stores  and retail space all have the ability to match demand from the grid with generation from the roof.
